Psychotherapy

My approach weaves together five evidence-based techniques:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I begin by identifying the "thought loops" that keep you stuck. By recognizing and reframing unhelpful patterns, you can change how you feel and react to the world around you.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Rather than fighting your internal experiences, I help you make room for difficult emotions. We focus on clarifying your core values so you can take committed action toward the life you actually want to live.

  • Mindfulness & Relaxation: Stress often lives in the body. Through mindfulness and relaxation techniques, I teach you how to anchor yourself in the present moment, lowering your physiological "alarm system" and reducing anxiety.

  • Self-Compassion: Most of us are our own harshest critics. I incorporate self-compassion practices to help you develop a supportive inner voice, replacing shame with the understanding and care you deserve.

*if you have a particular mental health diagnosis for which there is evidence that another approach, such as exposure for social anxiety, is the best course of treatment, Cognitive Processing Therapy or Prolonged Exposure for trauma, etc., I will of course use the treatment modality with the best evidence of working for you.
